Every Home Has A Story
This gracious mid-century Spanish home in Toluca Lake was purchased by the seller in 1965. She raised her family here and filled the home with a collection of artifacts and a lifetime of memories. Her story was strongly felt as soon as we walked in. The house also hadn’t been updated or maintained, and was packed with papers, boxes, clothes and mismatched antique furniture. The yard was overgrown and full of cracked potted plants, jumbled pavers and stones.
We needed to modernize and transform the house to allow a new owner to visualize and create their own story so we:
- Held an estate sale, which cleared the house
- Staged the house with modern mid century furniture using the estate sale proceeds
- Hired and supervised contractors to remove window bars, touch ups, and power wash the exterior of the house
- Hired cleaners to clean the house and carpets
- Brought in landscapers to clean up the yard and create inviting seating areas in the front and by the pool
- Catered a taco party to give our open house a festive atmosphere
- Blanketed the neighborhood with mailers and flyers inviting them to the party
